i need a ref

I have taken charge of peterborough schools association teams U13 and U15. The U15 team has their first national cup match on the 4th of October at 10:00am. The match will be held at the focus football ground but I am struggling to find a referee.

Any ideas

Nominations for FA Competitions

Arrived home after a few days away to find an envelope from the FA with a letter in it saying I had been �nominated by my parent County FA to be considered for appointment to FA Competitions for the forthcoming season 2008/09�.

A complete surprise and I wanted to say thank you to those who have helped me so far and have confidence in my ability to nominate me for consideration after only 1 full year of refereeing.

SPORTSMANSHIP OR AIDING AND ABETING

Incident occurred in my Cambs Div 5 match. Last game of season, sunny day one team 4th from bottom have 11 players and one sub the other team 2nd from bottom have 11 players and a bloke to run the line. No relegation issues as it's the bottom league.

After 16 minutes 2 players go in for the ball, fair challange, ball goes out of play and I hear a player say his boot has broken. Sure enough half of the bottom of the boot had come off and therefore he could not continue as his equipment was ...

offside or not

Birmingham's Jaidi. 2 weeks running positioned between the wall and the keeper, moving around and throwing his arms about. Surely he is interfering with an opponent ie keeper. I'll never get a Prem game cos i'd give offside everytime. Can't believe theres not much fuss about it. I bet he'd be offside against Man U

Promotion to L3

I got my letter from the FA offering promotion to L3 this morning. I've got to pass the fitness test and LOAF exam first of course. Fingers crossed for the 31st May.

I'd like to say a BIG thankyou to all my colleagues who have helped me get to this postiton in my referee career. As they say, on the field of play it's a three person job. Without your help, i wouldn't have reached this position.

Hunts RA Annual Dinner Dance

The Hunts RA Annual Dinner Dance is being held on 19th April this year.

The organisers are a little concerned that numbers are so low with only 38 people signed up.

Is a dinner dance what we as members want? If not, are there any other suggestions as to what we may do as a Society to ensure at least one annual get together for the majority and not the minority?

I know the committee would be more than gratefull to find out what you as members really want.

In my game yesterday 2 players having a bit of banter,i run past and say 'cut it out lads' play goes on.Ball out of play,they're having another moan at each other. I called them over and tell them to stop the verbals and get on with the game. One of them protests quite strongly and says the other was being racist.He wasn't specific,he just said racist. Goal Line or edge of Penalty Area

When on your own with Club Assistants should you go to the goal line or stay on the edge. If you adopt the latter policy you will see pushes easier and also ready for quick breaks. If you go on the goal line you will be in that position for the 1 or 2 times when you will need to be there during the season. Views?

I would be very interested to know what some other refs do with regards to keeping fit, especially those at a high level.

I currently go to the gym or train 4 times a week and try to tailor my training towards being a ref, would like to swap ideas with people, especially with pre season looming all too quickly!
