offside or not

Birmingham's Jaidi. 2 weeks running positioned between the wall and the keeper, moving around and throwing his arms about. Surely he is interfering with an opponent ie keeper. I'll never get a Prem game cos i'd give offside everytime. Can't believe theres not much fuss about it. I bet he'd be offside against Man U

Offside

I beg to differ. Mike Shaw gave an offside decision for just such an infringement in the Hunts Senior Cup yesterday. Just a shame he supports Carlislu United!!

Has to be offside in my opinion as the player is interfering with an opponent.

This comes under the IFABs Decision 2 in Law 11 which states " Interfering with an opponent means preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent's line of vision or movement or making a gesture or movement which, in the opinion of the referee, deceives or distracts an opponent.

The key bit, in my opinion, is the bit in bold.

On another note come on the mighty Leeds with 40,000 expected tomorrow night the atmosphere should be rocking.

Carlisle who - lets hope we don't do our usual Cup Final thing and not turn up Wembley 96 and Cardiff 06. Maybe things are starting to turn for the better and commentators will stop harping on about the Champions League Semi Final 7 years ago. I won't repeat the 15 points song as I'd get banned from the sight but it would put a few things right. Commiserations to Carlisle as I thought they played some good football but we could not have been as bad as we were on Monday night again.
